$100,000 MLB Best Ball Championship

We’ve launched the first MLB Best Ball tournament in history. The MLB Best Ball Championship is a $100,000 20-week tournament that will decide who drafted the best team on Earth for the 2019 MLB season.

Here’s how it works:
You draft anytime prior to March 28th, 2019. This will be your team for all 20 weeks, there is no re-draft at any point in the Championship. The Draft will be 18 rounds with a 30 second pick clock. Entry fee is $25 and you are capped at 138 entries. The tournament is broken into 3 phases: the Regular Season, Playoffs, and Finals. The Regular Season will be 12 person contests running from Week 1 through Week 14.

Win your 12 person contest and advance to The Playoffs. The Playoffs are four weeks long and consist of two rounds - each round two weeks long. Each round will consist of 12 person contests. The first playoff round will run through Weeks 15 and 16. The second playoff round will run through Weeks 17 and 18. You must place in the top 3 to advance from each round of The Playoffs. Make it through both rounds of the playoffs and advance to The Finals where 24 teams will face off in a two-week contest for the $20,000 top prize. The Final Round will run through Weeks 19 and 20.

Contest Details

  • Breaking Ties

For the regular season, whoever has the highest scoring player through 14 weeks will advance. If two teams top scorers are tied, it will go to the next highest scoring player until a tie is broken. For The Playoffs and Finals, ties will be broken by the higher scoring Regular Season team. If Regular Season points are equal we will look at your highest scoring player that round, then it will go to the next highest scoring player until a tie is broken. For all rounds, if a tie is still not broken, the next tiebreaker will be reverse pick order. If this still does not break the tie, the final tiebreaker will be a coin flip filmed at DRAFT HQ.
  • Postponed Games

Players’ scores count for the scoring week that the game is played. If a game is postponed from April 8th to April 24th, players’ points will count towards the scoring week that includes April 24th. Any game postponed and played after the contest has closed, August 25th, 2019, will not count towards your score.
  • Suspended Games

For all suspended games, players that accumulated statistics/fantasy points for the portion of the game played on the scheduled date will have those scores applied to your score for that same day/week.

During the Regular Season (Round 1), if a suspended game is completed before the end of the round, the statistics/fantasy points will be applied retroactively to the original date on which the game was initially started. For example, if a game starts on June 1st, is suspended and resumed on June 12th, the statistics/fantasy points will be applied to your June 1st score.

Throughout The Playoffs and Final Round, statistics will be final on the Monday afternoon, at 12pm EST, after the previous week has closed. Only the portion of the game that has already been played will apply to your score. For example, if a game is started on August 18th, is suspended and resumed on August 24th, the August 24th stats will not be applied retroactively to August 18th, as the week would have closed on August 24th at 12pm EST.

  • Stat Corrections

Stat corrections will be applied until a round is closed. Stats will be updated and finalized Monday morning after a round has finished. Stats will be final and the tournament will be advanced.

After the Final Round, stats will be updated and finalized on August 26th at noon EST and contests will be paid out. Any stat corrections that occur later than that will not count towards your score.
